We are honored to announce the Kay Payne Memorial Scholarship, a one‑time $1,000 award created in memory of Mary Kay Payne, CST. Kay dedicated 40 years to serving patients and advancing surgical technology education in Georgia. She was a dedicated member of GASA and of our Board of Directors.
This scholarship is open to Georgia surgical technology students who are enrolled in their program through February 28, 2027.

The Georgia State Assembly Foundation was established in 2017 with an initial donation from the GASA Board of Directors. The Foundation receives money from our marketing table income at meetings, as well as from hospital and vendor table rent at our meetings. Since its inception, the GASA Foundation has donated approximately $15,000 to worthy causes.
The Foundation sponsors a charity project in the local area of each meeting. Our projects have included:
